NMS-153 is an inhibitor of MPS1, a kinase that plays a fundamental role in the control of chromosome separation during cell division, a mechanism relevant for tumor growth, with potential for first-in-class. The molecule was discovered at NMS and then licensed to the French pharmaceutical company Servier, which initiated its clinical development. Recently, following a portfolio reorganization at Servier, NMS regained rights to the drug and will continue its development in a Phase I/II study in solid tumors.
