Nerviano Medical Sciences (NMS) is the largest pharmaceutical R&D facility in Italy and one of the largest oncology-focused, integrated discovery and development companies in Europe. Stemming from the longstanding heritage of Farmitalia Carlo Erba, an historical Italian company which has given important contributions to the field of antitumoral drugs, NMS was incorporated in May 2004 following a company re-organisation by Pfizer, the owner of the site located in Nerviano, a small town located just outside Milano, until that time.

A total of about 600 highly skilled and experienced scientists, technicians and managers are involved in research and development projects from target validation through clinical phase II.

In the discovery and development activities for the identification of new anticancer drugs by our Oncology division, we are strongly oriented at identifying synergies and collaborations with biopharmaceutical companies active in the oncology field, and with the scientific community.
