Preclinical development unit

The Preclinical Development (PCD) unit is committed to predicting and managing potential toxic, pharmacokinetic and metabolic issues of new compounds and to supporting all stages of drug discovery and development.

PCD has developed and successfully applied state-of-the-art technologies and ad hoc approaches to "pick the winner" among potential drug candidates for all therapeutic areas. In particular, PCD has proven instrumental in predicting clinical outcomes from reliable preclinical data. Drug development expertise and capabilities are devoted to the strategic design and execution of preclinical studies in order to meet the requirements of regulators and queries of clinical investigators.

Beyond specific expertise in the design and execution of preclinical development programmes for different classes of Oncology drugs, PCD has the strong background, competences and technologies necessary to support projects in different therapeutic areas.

The outstanding experience of the PCD unit contributes largely towards adding value to new products, reducing late attrition rate and improving cycle times.
