Dr. Artur Góra guest at the Oncology Seminar at Nerviano Medoical Sciences
On Friday, September 25th, 2009, Dr. Artur Góra, has visited Nerviano Medical Sciences and, within the Oncology Seminar Series, has presented a Seminar entitled: "De Novo enzyme design for Green chemistry applications".
Dr. Góra is currently a post-doctoral researcher and member of the Quantum Chemistry group at the Institute of Catalysis, the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow, Poland.
Along with a PhD in chemistry he has a M.Sc. degree in molecular biology. His research activities have focused on theoretical and experimental work on environmental and enzyme catalysis at Jagiellonian University and Institute of Catalysis, Poland and inorganic membrane chemistry, at AIST-Tohoku Japan.
Dr. Góra is involved in the APTAFLUOR project proposed to the European Community for funding. He intends to explore the potential of ATP-binding oligonucleotides (aptamers) to catalyze multi-component reactions (MCR), in order to generate novel fluorescent ATP-analogs.
